Many members may come fresh to the warriors world and may not know much about warriors, or members stopped reading the books. Here you will find summeries of each book, and as well as what the series is.
BASIC INFOMATION Erin Hunter, author of Warriors, is actually the pseudonym of three people, Kate and Cherith take it in turns to write the books, while Vicky coordinates the whole affair. They came up with the name Erin Hunter to avoid confusing readers with their books filed in different places on bookshelves. Some sites have reported her middle initial as being "H", but on her official website, she denied having any knowledge of Erin having a middle name.

ORIGINAL SERIES Book one:Into the Wild Into the Wild takes place in the western Great Plains. It starts out with a "kittypet" (Clan cats' name for house cats) named Rusty. Rusty is wandering off into the woods when he is stumbled upon by a wild cat named Graypaw, a ThunderClan apprentice. Unknown to the two young cats, two warriors from ThunderClan watch them - Lionheart, a golden-brown tabby male and Graypaw's mentor, and Bluestar, a blue-gray tabby female who leads the Clan. After they watch Rusty and Graypaw fight and make up, Bluestar offers Rusty a chance to join their Clan of feral cats and train as an apprentice. Rusty goes home to think it over, and later meets Lionheart and another ThunderClan cat, named Whitestorm, in the woods. Rusty tells them that he accepts Bluestar's offer. Rusty then travels to the ThunderClan camp (the cat's home) and fights Longtail (a prejudiced young warrior of ThunderClan) in a battle of honor. Rusty splits Longtail's ear and Rusty's collar snaps off. This is taken as an omen from the cats' StarClan that Rusty is meant to be in their Clan. Rusty is then given his new Clan name Firepaw, because of the way his flame-colored coat shines in the sunlight. However, Firepaw soon learns that kittypets are thought to be soft and useless to most Clan-born cats and Firepaw is a cat who did not have "warrior blood" in his veins at all. However, he is slowly able to adjust to his new life.
Firepaw grows up fast and trains hard to become a full, respected warrior and member of the Clan. Firepaw's natural curiosity is also aroused when he finds himself becoming suspicious of the Clan member Tigerclaw when he is appointed deputy of ThunderClan. This is suspicious because the original deputy, Redtail, had been killed in battle by Oakheart (the deputy of RiverClan). A while after Lionheart becomes deputy, Lionheart is killed in battle as well, and then Tigerclaw becomes the new deputy under very unusual circumstances. Ravenpaw, another ThunderClan apprentice and witness to a murder, tells Firepaw that it was Tigerclaw, not Oakheart who actually killed the former ThunderClan deputy, Redtail. But Tigerclaw makes sure that no cat trusts Ravenpaw, giving Firepaw the motive to take Ravenpaw to a different home. Tigerclaw taunts Firepaw on a regular basis, but Firepaw soon grows used to it.
In the midst of this, Spottedleaf, the medicine cat of ThunderClan, is killed in an attack from a merciless death blow by Clawface of ShadowClan, another one of the four Clans in the forest. Firepaw is devastated, because although she was a medicine cat and therefore unable to take a mate, they both had developed a love for each other. During this attack, some of the kits from ThunderClan go missing. Tigerclaw immediately blames Yellowfang, the new ThunderClan medicine cat, because she was taken into the Clan from ShadowClan, ThunderClan's enemy. Yellowfang was also not present after the battle, therefore making Tigerclaw and the rest of the Clan suspicious of her. Bluestar intervenes and said that there was no proof that she did anything, and does not blame her for anything. Yellowfang, whom Firepaw found, has grown to become friends after Firepaw had to take care of her as a punishment for disobeying the warrior code. Many cats in ThunderClan distrusted Yellowfang both because of her former Clan, and also because of a warning given at a Gathering (a meeting of the four Clans where they discuss the needs of the Clans). This warning given by Brokenstar, ShadowClan's leader, described Yellowfang whom ShadowClan had driven from their Clan. He warned that no other Clan should take her in and that they should watch their kits closely, because he blamed her for killing the two kits that Brokenstar himself had actually killed. Firepaw is determined to prove Yellowfang innocent of the accusation that she had been stealing kits and rescue the missing kits. Firepaw and Graypaw, determined to prove Yellowfang's innocence, manage to find kits that went missing from the Clan, rescue them from ShadowClan (with help from Yellowfang), and drive the real kit snatcher, Brokenstar, from his position as ShadowClan leader. Brokenstar had intended to train the tiny kits early so that he could have more warriors for his Clan; Firepaw's successful rescue prevented this from happening. They then drive off Brokenstar. After their adventure, Firepaw and Graypaw are promoted to ThunderClan warriors, and receive warrior names - Fireheart and Graystripe. The story ends as the two new warriors begin their traditional silent vigil until dawn.

Book two:Fire and Ice Bluestar gives the two apprentices, Firepaw and Graypaw, their warrior names, Fireheart and Graystripe. The book begins where the first book ended, with the two new warriors finishing their nighttime vigil. Bluestar then assigns the two warriors with the task of bringing WindClan (who were forced out of their home by Brokenstar, the former ShadowClan leader) back to their original home. They find WindClan far past Highstones and in a tunnel under a tangle of Thunderpaths. They find the tunnel, and spot Twolegs. The two warriors run into WindClan, and convince them to come home. On their way back from their successful mission accompanied by a WindClan escort, they decide to take a short cut by the gorge in RiverClan territory. They are caught by a RiverClan patrol, which forces them into a fight. A ThunderClan patrol arrives to help their fellow Clan mates. Graystripe is engaged in battle with Whiteclaw, a RiverClan warrior near the gorge. Graystripe nearly tumbles off the cliff, while his opponent Whiteclaw gets the worst of it and falls into the roaring river below, drowning. Fireheart saves Sandpaw from falling off the cliff. Graystripe, Fireheart's best friend, falls into the river one day and almost drowns. Silverstream, a RiverClan cat and the daughter of Crookedstar, saves his life. Later, Graystripe falls in love with the silver she-cat. Fireheart knows Graystripe is breaking every rule of the warrior code by falling in love with Silverstream, but he still covers for him. Fireheart tries to discourage them from seeing each other, but it doesn't work. Graystripe finally says that he will only meet her at Gatherings, but later on in the book, Fireheart realizes Graystripe has been seeing her secretly again... Fireheart also trains his apprentice, Cinderpaw, and Graystripe's apprentice, Brackenpaw. But then Cinderpaw goes to get a message to Tigerclaw, and is injured on the Thunderpath (a road [the "message" was supposed to kill Bluestar so he could become leader of ThunderClan]) A fight with WindClan against RiverClan and ShadowClan tests Fireheart's and Graystripe's loyalty to their Clan. Graystripe attacks only the ShadowClan warriors, and it is very clear that his loyalties have been divided. Silverstream attacks Fireheart thinking he is someone else. She lets him go when Graystripe cries "Silverstream! No!", but Fireheart instinctively pins her down afterward. He only lets her go when he sees a horrified-looking Graystripe. Unfortunately, Darkstripe sees him, and later tells Tigerclaw. At one point in the battle, Fireheart gets attacked by Leopardfur. Tigerclaw stood nearby, but did nothing except watch while Leopardfur prepares to kill Fireheart. Fireheart is certain now that Tigerclaw can never be trusted (with good reason to). Also, Fireheart is reunited with his sister, Princess, a kittypet living in Twoleg place early in the book. After Cinderpaw is crippled by her Thunderpath accident, Princess gives Fireheart her oldest kit, Cloudkit, to take into the Clan so that her brother can have another apprentice. Fireheart agrees to take the kit, but the rest of the Clan are reluctant to accept him because of his kittypet blood. The only cats to give Fireheart support are Frostfur and Graystripe, even though Fireheart and Graystripe didn't seem to be great friends at the time. Even so, Bluestar names Fireheart's nephew Cloudkit (without a naming ceremony) and allows him to stay, and Brindleface becomes his "foster mother." At the end of the book, Fireheart tells Graystripe that his relationship with Silverstream is his own thing to work out and that he won't try to interfere with it anymore, and their friendship seems to be back to normal again.

Book Three:Forest of Secrets Allegiances are shifting among the Clans of the warrior cats who roam the forest. With tensions so delicately balanced, former friends can become enemies overnight, and some cats are willing to betray their own Clan. Fireheart is more determined than ever to uncover the truth about Tigerclaw, though it isn't easy. However, at the same time, Fireheart has to carry on his warrior duties and cover for Graystripe, whose affair with Silverstream is in full steam. But, everything changes when he finds out she's pregnant with Graystripe's kits. This is where everything changes in ThunderClan. Fireheart and Graystripe face danger with Tigerclaw, who has noticed Graystripe missing many times. But then tragedy strikes when Silverstream's kits come early and she dies a painful death while giving birth to them. Graystripe, the father of the kits and mate of Silverstream, is left heartbroken. The whole of ThunderClan now knows about his affair and it seems like Graystripe will never be trusted again. Later, a band of rogues led by Tigerclaw attack ThunderClan's camp. During the chaos, Tigerclaw corners Bluestar in her den and tries to kill her. Fireheart arrives just in time to save his leader and drive Tigerclaw away. Bluestar is very shaken and unable to believe Tigerclaw's mutiny, though she manages to announce Tigerclaw's exile from the Clan. Fireheart then reveals Tigerclaw's treachery to all of ThunderClan. Tigerclaw then, one by one, asks the warriors Darkstripe, Longtail, and even Dustpelt if they want to join him but each cat refuses. Then after a very long wait by Bluestar, Fireheart himself is made deputy, but this announcement is made after moonhigh, which is against Clan tradition. Life is harder and things change at full speed. Fireheart is unsure if he will ever be a good deputy but he is sure that he hasn't seen the last of Tigerclaw. Meanwhile something strange is going on about two RiverClan cats that seem to be linked to ThunderClan. At the end of the book, Graystripe decides to join RiverClan, along with his and Silverstream's kits to raise them. Fireheart tries to make him reconsider his choice, but this later proves to be unsuccessful. He is left heartbroken as he recalls all the adventures that he and Graystripe had been through together, and thinks about how lonely he will be with his best friend gone forever. Fireheart then returns to the ThunderClan camp as their new appointed Clan deputy.

Book four:Rising Storm Fireheart is ThunderClan's new deputy now, but the old one, Tigerclaw, still haunts Fireheart's dreams. Fireheart wonders if ThunderClan would be ready if Tigerclaw attacked. Most of the cats are still shocked about Tigerclaw's disloyalty and many warriors are badly injured. Bluestar also did not seem like herself because her mind had been damaged by the shock of Tigerclaw's betrayal. In the summer months, Fireheart struggled to handle ominous omens, his disrespectful nephew and apprentice Cloudpaw, who saw a Twoleg for food and one day was abducted by them. Once they saved Cloudpaw, he was accepted back into the Clan, but Fireheart gave him a serious warning. Another problem was his devastated Clan leader, who was a shell of her former self. Fireheart must also deal with the fact that his best friend, Graystripe, fell in love with the RiverClan she-cat Silverstream, and had kits with her, and the kits' birth led to Silverstream's death. Graystripe took the kits and joined RiverClan, his deceased love's Clan, while very aware that he had broken The Warrior Code (Forest of Secrets). The relationship between Sandstorm and Fireheart had grown even more. Meanwhile the forest got hotter and hotter, and a fire sweeps through the forest, destroying ThunderClan's camp and taking the lives of two elders, Patchpelt and Halftail, and Yellowfang, ThunderClan's medicine cat. When Bluestar, accompanied by Fireheart, went to speak to StarClan at Mothermouth, a patrol of WindClan warriors, led by Mudclaw, stopped them before Bluestar was able to talk with them. The ThunderClan leader later feared that StarClan sent WindClan to stop them from going to Mothermouth and speaking with StarClan, which causes her to slip into further paranoia. Even so, the WindClan patrol had no right to stop Bluestar from journeying to HighStones, and that troubles Fireheart.
At the end of the book, it was revealed at a Gathering, after both Nightstar and Cinderfur, the deputy of ShadowClan have both died from a sickness, that Tigerclaw was the new leader of ShadowClan.

Book five:A dangerous Path ShadowClan has a dark new leader, Tigerstar, the exiled deputy from ThunderClan. We are left wondering whether he will be satisfied with his power now — or whether his desire for revenge will burn stronger yet?Fireheart, the young ThunderClan deputy, fears that there is a connection between the rise of Tigerstar and the terrible dreams of danger that haunt his dreams. Meanwhile, a mysterious threat has invaded the forest, placing every life in peril. Cats hear the words "Pack, pack," and "kill, kill" uttered everywhere. Swiftpaw is killed by the "pack" and half of Brightpaw's (later Brightheart) face is torn off (she is later given the name "Lostface" by Bluestar). However, Fireheart doesn't have much time to dwell on that because of Bluestar's lack of faith of StarClan and even her own Clan. Fireheart doesn't know if he can convince Bluestar that ThunderClan cats aren't traitors and save the Clan at the same time. He worries if Bluestar is really out of her mind and wanting to attack WindClan, who Bluestar believes has been stealing ThunderClan's prey. However, Fireheart soon finds a bloodless way of solving the problem by secretly meeting with Tallstar, WidnClan's leader. Sandstorm and Cinderpelt quarrel in this book over Firestar. Erin Hunter later announced that Cinderpelt had always had feelings for Firestar. Meanwhile, Fireheart has been having problems with Sandstorm, starting when he gave Tawnypaw to Brackenfur to mentor instead of her, even though she was the obvious choice. He did because he was afraid Tigerstar might do something to hurt the mentors. Later he solves this problem by confessing his love for her, and Sandstorm loves him back.
But soon Fireheart find out that a pack of dogs threatens the Clan. Fireheart suspects that Tigerstar has something to do with this. Fireheart finds a way to get the dogs out of the forest once and for all: by leading through the forest and over the gorge. When Fireheart is at the gorge, Tigerstar attacks him, holding him down so that he'll fall victim to the blood-thirsty beasts. Just at the last moment, Bluestar comes in out of thin air, slamming into the lead dog and driving it over the cliff to save her Clan. The dog goes tumbling over the gorge, but so does Bluestar. Fireheart hurries after his leader, but Bluestar dies shortly after she's pulled out of the river by Fireheart, Stonefur, and Mistyfoot (her own children whom she had sent to RiverClan to save her own Clan and become Clan deputy). Before her death, she tells Fireheart that he is the fire that would save the Clan. Now, after the tearful death of his mentor and leader, Fireheart has no choice but to become leader of ThunderClan. In this book Graystripe also returns to ThunderClan after warning Fireheart when Leopardstar was about to attack him, and pulled her off him.

Book Six:The Darkest Hour In the prologue, Tigerstar travels to make a deal with Scourge, leader of an unofficial Clan called BloodClan, made up of many alley cats from the Twolegplace. Tigerstar offers Scourge a share of the forest territory in return for BloodClan's help in convincing the other Clans to join his new Clan, called TigerClan. Meanwhile, the story is picked up right where the last left off. Fireheart becomes the leader of ThunderClan, recieving his nine lives and the name Firestar from StarClan. His leader ceremony is interrupted when a hill of bones appears in his dream, followed by a river of blood. Bluestar, former leader of ThunderClan, gives him this prophecy: Four will become two. Lion and tiger will meet in battle, and blood will rule the forest.
Upon returning, Firestar turns his suspicions to Darkstripe, a former ally of Tigerstar, who has been showing signs of alliance with ShadowClan. He orders Brackenfur to keep an eye on him. On Firestar's way back from hunting with Bramblepaw, Firestar finds Sorrelkit, a ThunderClan kit, poisoned next to a pile of chewed up deathberries. Graystripe attacks Darkstripe, whom he accuses of feeding the deathberries to Sorrelkit. Although it cannot be immediately proven Darkstripe was at fault, Sorrelkit later recovers and reveals that Darkstripe fed the berries to her, telling her they were a treat, so she could not tell Firestar about a meeting she'd witnessed between Darkstripe and Blackfoot, the ShadowClan deputy on ThunderClan territory. Darkstripe is exiled from ThunderClan and is suspected to join his former ally, Tigerstar, in the newly formed TigerClan.
At the Gathering, Tigerstar proposes to unite the other three Clans with ShadowClan to form one larger Clan, TigerClan. RiverClan's leader, Leopardstar agrees to join them. However, ThunderClan and WindClan refuse. Firestar begins to tell the cats of Tigerstar's treachery, but he is stopped as storm clouds move in, covering the moon. Tigerstar interprets this as a sign from StarClan that the meeting is finished, and calls the Gathering to an end. Soon after the Gathering, TigerClan attacks WindClan, weakening their warriors and slaughtering an apprentice, Gorsepaw. Afterwards, Graystripe worriedly wants to check on his kin in RiverClan, Stormpaw and Featherpaw.
Accompanied by Ravenpaw, who was on a visit to ThunderClan, Graystripe and Firestar go to RiverClan and find not only Graystripe's kits, but Bluestar's kin (Mistyfoot and Stonefur) being held as prisoners. Tigerstar accuses them of being half-Clan cats and therefore traitors. He orders Stonefur to prove his loyalty to TigerClan by killing the two apprentices, but Stonefur refuses. Tigerstar then orders Darkstripe (who has joined his ally as suspected) to kill all three of them. Darkstripe battles with Stonefur, hoping to prove his loyalty as a strong warrior. Darkstripe loses the battle against Stonefur, who fights heroically, so Tigerstar orders Blackfoot to step in and finish off Stonefur. Stormpaw and Featherpaw are taken back into their prison where Mistyfoot is waiting anxiously. Firestar agrees that the ThunderClan cats must help and Ravenpaw convinces the guard that he is a RiverClan cat and that Tigerstar has a message for him. The group escapes with the prisoners.
When time runs out for Tigerstar's offer to join TigerClan, Firestar and Tallstar prepare to fight. They are shocked by the appearance of BloodClan. Tigerstar orders BloodClan to fight for him, yet they make no move. Scourge tells Tigerstar that he is the only cat in charge of BloodClan. Firestar takes that chance to make an impression on Scourge by announcing to the cats of every Clan Tigerstar's wicked past. Hearing everything, Scourge decides that there will be no battle, and Tigerstar attacks him. Scourge kills Tigerstar easily, wiping out all nine of his lives in one blow, by slashing from his throat to tail. Scourge gives all of the forest Clans three days to either leave, or fight BloodClan for it. To face this danger, the four Clans unite as one and call their alliance LionClan, going into battle against BloodClan. Darkstripe (who joined BloodClan after Tigerstar died) attacks Firestar but before he could kill him, Graystripe defends Firestar by killing Darkstripe. Whitestorm, the ThunderClan deputy, is killed by the BloodClan deputy named Bone, who is later killed by a group of apprentices led by Tawnypaw after Bone attacked Bramblepaw. Whitestorm's last wishes were to appoint Graystripe as deputy of ThunderClan, saying that Graystripe was always Firestar's rightful deputy, with which Firestar complies. At the end of the battle, Firestar loses his first life to Scourge. He was revived by StarClan, much to Scourge's shock, and kills the BloodClan leader. After Scourge's death, the BloodClan cats scatter in confusion and fall back with no motivation to keep fighting. The last to go are followed in pursuit by Tallstar and a few of his Clanmates. The Clans disband and become independant once more, and the power in the forest is returned to normal.

THE NEW PROPHECY Book one:Midnight Midnight is the first novel in Warriors: The New Prophecy, the second series of novels. It opens twelve moons after The Darkest Hour, with StarClan choosing four cats to go on a journey. Later in the series, it is revealed that Twolegs (humans) plan to destroy the forest for a new and even larger Thunderpath (a super-highway). A prophecy is revealed that states: Darkness, air, water and sky will come together and shake the forest to its roots. This is the prophecy that this novel and the next two revolve around. This book is named after a star-gazing badger. The next generation of warriors from the feral cat colonies (Clans) are introduced. Bramblepaw, Tigerstar's son, has become Brambleclaw. Firestar has had two kits with Sandstorm, named Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw. Squirrelpaw is apprenticed to Dustpelt, and Leafpaw is apprenticed to Cinderpelt in preparation to become the next medicine cat of ThunderClan. In the prologue, StarClan is choosing a cat from each clan to represent their clan on a mission. It is revealed that Brambleclaw is chosen to represent ThunderClan; Feathertail (Graystripe's daughter) to represent RiverClan; Crowpaw (the only apprentice chosen) to represent WindClan; and Tawnypelt (formerly Tawnypaw, Brambleclaw's sister) to represent ShadowClan. Each cat is visited by their StarClan ancestors and are told to go and see what "Midnight" has to say. Squirrelpaw tags along with Brambleclaw, and Stormfur insists on accompanying them to protect his sister, Feathertail, as the six cats trek into the unknown world. While Leafpaw and Cinderpelt search for herbs, StarClan sends Cinderpelt an ominous warning in some burning bracken, a picture of a tiger running through fire, which she interprets to mean that fire and tiger will destroy the forest. Cinderpelt concludes that the warning must mean Squirrelpaw and Brambleclaw, the daughter of Firestar and the son of Tigerstar, respectively. They share the warning with Firestar, who later decides to keep Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw separated. His plan fails when Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw meet with Feathertail, Stormfur, Tawnypelt, and Crowpaw at Fourtrees, and the cats begin their journey to the sun-drown-place (their name for the sea, because of the way the sun sinks into the water). Later, he realizes that the fire and tiger sign actually means that Brambleclaw and Sqiurrelpaw can save the forest together. Their guide, an old loner named Purdy, is confused and fights break out between them because of this. Eventually, they reach the sun-drown-place and enter a cavern inhabited by a highly intelligent badger known as Midnight, who reveals to them that the humans will destroy the forest, that the cats must either leave the forest or die, and that a dying warrior will lead them to their new home. The book ends with a short epilogue back in the forest, where the humans begin to destroy ThunderClan's territory. The cover features Brambleclaw.

Book Two:Moonrise The book is called moonrise because it is mentioned throughout the book. Several moons have passed since six cats set out from the forest on an urgent journey to save all their Clans. The six cats are now traveling home again. From fear of the dangers that they encountered in the first book Midnight, they decide to travel back through the mountains to return to the forest. In the midst of the snowy danger, the six cats, Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Crowpaw, Feathertail, Stormfur, and Tawnypelt, stumble across a group of wild tribal cats, who belong to TheTribe of Rushing Water. The friendly Tribe takes the questing cats in to shelter them and feed them. But the Tribe cats have their own prophecy to fulfill. They see Stormfur as their only hope, the silver cat mentioned in the prophecy of the Tribe of Endless Hunting, the Tribe cats' spiritual ancestors. Stormfur is forced to protect the Tribe from Sharptooth, a blood-thirsty mountain lion cat with a taste for the smaller cats' blood. Together, Stormfur and his friends help get rid of Sharptooth by anguishing him and leading him into a trap. However, as they duel the wild cat, it is revealed that Feathertail, Stormfur's sister and the daughter of Graystripe, is the real silver cat. In order to save Crowpaw from being killed, Feathertail jumps up at the roof of the cave, jumps onto a rock spike from the roof of the cave, plummets to the floor with it, falling on Sharptooth and crushing him, yet Feathertail also dies from the impact. Feathertail is later buried at the base of the Cave of Rushing Water's waterfall, which is an honor, and the remaining five cats continue traveling home towards their Clans. During their stay, Stormfur fell in love with Brook Where Small Fish Swim (Brook), a Tribe prey-hunter, and is forced to say goodbye to her and Feathertail. Meanwhile, Leafpaw, the ThunderClan Medicine Cat apprentice, has to deal with the threats at home. The destruction of the forest has begun, and the whole forest is being uprooted by the Twolegs. During the near end of the book, she enters into what seems to be a Twoleg trap for cats. Sorreltail tried to to call out for her but she was too late. Leafpaw was captured by the humans. The book ends with Tawnypelt noticing Highstones at the edge of WindClan territory and exclaiming, "Highstones! We're almost home!"

Book three:Dawn Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Crowfeather, Stormfur and Tawnypelt have arrived with the message: the Clans must move to a new home, or risk extermination. The destruction of the forest has already begun, with the clans, except Riverclan, starving as the food supply has been cut off and the habitat destroyed, all by the twolegs building a new Thunderpath. Amid the destruction, cats are being taken away by Twolegs, including ThunderClan's medicine cat apprentice, Leafpaw. But it is not easy to convince the cats to leave. What they need is a sign from StarClan. . . but it seems that it will never come. Only a devastating attack on the ShadowClan camp will convince the other Clans to leave. The dying warrior from Midnight's prophecy is revealed to be a star which runs though the night sky and drops behind the mountains. They all travel though the mountains, guided by Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Crowpaw, Tawnypelt, and Stormfur. Graystripe is taken by the Twolegs, but he succeeds in rescuing Leafpaw and the other cats from RiverClan and WindClan, as well as many loners and rogues. While trying to protect kits, Firestar loses a life when a tree crashes and falls on him as they try to evacuate ShadowClan from their camp as Twolegs begin to destroy it. Stormfur chooses to stay with the Tribe of Rushing Water with Brook Where Small Fish Swim and Feathertail's spirit. Near the end of the book, Squirrelpaw confesses her love to Brambleclaw and he loves her back. At the end of the book, the Clans discover a forest around a lake that reflects all of the stars. Leafpaw is certain that this is the Clans' new home.

Book Four:Starlight The cats have just discovered the lake as their new home. The four clans temporarily set up a camp by the lake shore and decide that the next day they will sort out territories and a Gathering place. During a meeting, Firestar calls up Squirrelpaw and gives her the warrior name Squirrelflight, becoming the first cat to receive a warrior name by the lake. The next day, the leaders call upon the four remaining cats that went on the journey, (Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, Crowfeather, and Tawnypelt) as well as Mistyfoot of RiverClan to explore all around the lake and find territories and a camp for each clan. They depart on this new journey.
The cats come across a spot that seems ideal for RiverClan. Continuing on, they find a coniferous forest which seems to suit ShadowClan. Desperate to prove herself by finding ThunderClan a camp, Squirrelflight runs ahead and accidentally falls down a large circular stone hollow. She recovers and then realizes that it would be a perfect place for the ThunderClan camp. Brambleclaw, however, seems reluctant, but they keep it in mind. The cats later cross a moorland which Crowfeather thinks would suit WindClan. The five cats return and announce their findings to all of the other cats. They plan to leave the next day.
That night, while every other cat is sleeping, Barkface, the WindClan medicine cat, goes to Firestar and tells him that Tallstar is dying. Firestar asks Leafpaw to follow him, as well as Onewhisker, at Tallstar's request. Tallstar tells them that he does not wish for a cat like his deputy, Mudclaw, to lead WindClan, and wishes to switch Onewhisker as deputy. He performs the ceremony, then shortly afterward, dies, leaving a stunned Onewhisker. Then next morning, Firestar and Onewhisker announce this to the other clans, much to Mudclaw's anger. Onewhisker appoints Ashfoot as his deputy, although he has not yet received his lives and name. The medicine cats worry if there is another Moonstone here for Onewhisker to do so.
After settling into the new camp, Mousefur falls ill. It turns out that Mothwing had all of the elders drink from a small pool by the lake shore before the clans split up again. The pool's water was contaminated by rotting prey. The cats seem to be alright though. It is full moon, so the cats meet back by the lake shore for the Gathering. It is cut short by foxes which attack. Some warriors fight them off and there are no injuries, but the cats take this as a sign that this should not be the Gathering spot. Leafpaw talks to Mothwing afterward and Mothwing confesses that she feels she isn't cut out to be a medicine cat, and that she doesn't even believe in StarClan, which takes Leafpaw by great surprise.
During Gatherings and times when the clans are together, Brambleclaw has been spending more time with Hawkfrost which doesn't sit well with Squirrelflight. Brambleclaw has a dream which he sees Tigerstar and Hawkfrost. Tigerstar praises the two of them for their courage with this ordeal and tells him that he has great plans for them. There is also much tension erupting in WindClan which seems to be divided in two: Mudclaw's supporters and Onewhisker's supporters. ThunderClan fears something is coming from this.
One night, Spottedleaf comes to Leafpaw and tells her to follow her. Sorreltail accompanies Leafpaw, and the two of them go far up on ThunderClan's territory near the border with WindClan. Spottedleaf takes Leafpaw to her destination: a pool of water which reflects the stars and moonlight. Leafpaw sees all of the cats of StarClan there including Bluestar, Feathertail, and all of the cats that died of hunger during the famine in the old forest. Bluestar tells her that this place, the Moonpool, is where medicine cats will come to share tongues with StarClan. She goes back to tell Cinderpelt, and the two of them tell all of the other medicine cats. Later, during the half moon, Leafpaw receives her full medicine cat name, Leafpool.
The next day, Mistyfoot rushes into ThunderClan and says that Mudclaw and Hawkfrost have been meeting at night. She then says that Hawkfrost and a patrol went out at dawn that day and hadn't returned, and she suspects they've gone to attack Onewhisker's followers in WindClan. Firestar assembles a patrol to accompany him to fight, and sure enough, a battle has started on WindClan territory. Leafpool is left behind with a couple other ThunderClan warriors in the camp. Two ShadowClan warriors invade and almost kill Leafpool when Crowfeather comes to her rescue. Leafpool proclaims her love for him as he does for her. Brambleclaw ends up pursuing Mudclaw and Hawkfrost. Brambleclaw fights Mudclaw. Mudclaw has the advantage over Brambleclaw until Hawkfrost saves him. Mudclaw claims that he and Hawkfrost had an agreement: Mudclaw would take over and make Hawkfrost the deputy, despite him being RiverClan. Hawkfrost denies this. Just then, lightning strikes a tree which crushes Mudclaw and makes a bridge to an island, which was earlier mentioned as a possible Gathering spot. All the cats gather around and celebrate Onewhisker's victory, and he says he will go and receive his leader name and nine lives as soon as possible. In the final scene, Squirrelflight sees Brambleclaw talking with Hawkfrost, and she walks away from him, ending their relationship.

Book Five:Twilight New territory brings new troubles of the fierce cats of the warrior Clans, who are still uncovering the secrets of their new home around the lake. Dangers they have never faced before lurk in the twilight, and former allies are acting strangely hostile. As divisions between the Clans grow deeper, Leafpool and Squirrelflight face troubling decisions. One is torn between loyalty to her calling and a forbidden love, while the other struggles with her former love's betrayal, her growing mistrust of him, and the surprising perils of the forest. And for two brothers, one cat is trying to twist their minds to follow him. Meanwhile, an unexpected enemy is preparing to attack... And for one beloved cat, the end is coming all too soon... Squirrelflight struggles with Brambleclaw's hostility toward her, and at the same time she and Ashfur grow much closer, and she wonders if she loves him as she had loved Brambleclaw. Leafpool deals with her forbidden love with Crowfeather, and struggles with her feelings, and she must choose between her heart and her Clan. The enemy has been revealed as badgers ever since the Clans drove them out, they wanted to kill them so they could live there again. The doomed cat is later revealed to be Cinderpelt, who dies defending her friend Sorreltail from a badger attack while she is kitting. Also, in the book, Daisy and her three kits Berry, Hazel, and Mouse (later Berrykit, Hazelkit, and Mousekit) join ThunderClan after Daisy witnessing the Twolegs taking Floss' kits away. In the book, Leafpool and Crowfeather secretly meet each other. Cinderpelt finally confronts Leafpool when she is with Crowfeather. The two medicine cats fight, and Leafpool manage runs away with Crowfeather after Spottedleaf tells her to follow her heart. After a long night alone in the hills, Leafpool and Crowfeather return to help ThunderClan at the end of the book, after hearing of the badger attack from Midnight, the star-gazing badger. Near the end of the novel, it appears that Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw have somewhat settled their previous fights for the time being. In the last paragraph, Stormfur and Brook come to rejoin ThunderClan, although they don't say why.

Book Six:Sunset Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight's fight is over. Their love for each other has become stronger than before, but Brambleclaw must choose once and for all if he will follow in his father's pawsteps or reject the power that Tigerstar promises and concentrate on being a loyal warrior.
Tigerstar continues to visit Hawkfrost and Brambleclaw in their dreams and their sister Tawnypelt appears in one of the dreams also, firmly rejecting Tigerstar's offer of power.
In addition, it seems that something has happened in the Tribe of Rushing Water. Stormfur and Brook are unwilling to return to the Tribe and do not say why. Even at the end of the book it is not known what the reason might be. Stormfur and Brook go back to RiverClan, but Hawkfrost has them thrown out of the Clan. After egging Stormfur on to attack him, which he does, Leopardstar exiles Stormfur for his disregard for the warrior code. Brook leaves RiverClan with him. Brambleclaw, who witnessed the exile, takes Stormfur and Brook back to ThunderClan, and Firestar lets them stay as long as they want. Firestar doesn't get all the support he wants from his Clanmates, but having Graystripe's son in the Clan, Firestar is not as devastated about his capture.
After moons of waiting and persuasion from Brambleclaw and Sandstorm, Firestar admits to himself that Graystripe isn’t going to return. When the Clan begins to challenge the weary leader for accepting cats that do not belong to ThunderClan (Daisy, her kits, Stormfur, and Brook), Firestar appoints a new deputy, Brambleclaw. The decision is first met with objection, because Brambleclaw had never mentored an apprentice. The matter is soon cleared when Firestar declares that his new deputy will mentor Berrykit when he comes of age.
As for Cinderpelt, all of the Clans are grieving for her. Leafpool finds herself struggling between grief and betrayal, for she has not seen Cinderpelt in the ranks of StarClan. During a visit to the Moonpool, Spottedleaf comes to Leafpool in a dream and shows her that Cinderpelt has been reborn in the form of Cinderkit, a fluffy gray she-cat (one of Sorreltail's four kits).
Leafpool also realizes that after overhearing a fight between Mothwing and Hawkfrost, and then receiving a vision from Spottedleaf, that Hawkfrost planted the moth's wing outside of Mudfur's den back in the forest (the sign which made Mothwing a Medicine Cat apprentice, now is not a sign) so he could use Mothwing to become leader.
Fox traps have also been discovered in the forest, and cats are warned to avoid and also spring them (by putting sticks into the traps) if they see any. Two known victims of the traps are Berrykit (who loses part of his tail as a result of getting it caught) and Firestar.
When Firestar is found caught in a fox trap, Hawkfrost urges Brambleclaw to kill the ThunderClan leader, as it is part of Tigerstar's plan for Hawkfrost and Brambleclaw to take over the four Clans. After struggling with his desires, Brambleclaw refuses to kill Firestar and he frees him from the trap. Because Brambleclaw has betrayed their father's plans, Hawkfrost attacks Brambleclaw, but Brambleclaw kills Hawkfrost with the trap's sharp stick. Before he dies, Hawkfrost claims to Brambleclaw that he had help with his plan and that their fight is not over. This leads Brambleclaw to think that there is a traitor in ThunderClan, though nothing is revealed when the book ends. After Hawkfrost's death, Brambleclaw expects to be exiled by Firestar. Firestar, however, praises Brambleclaw for what he did.
With that, the prophecy "Before there is peace, blood will spill blood and the lake will run red" is fulfilled. Leafpool realizes this when she and Squirrelflight reach Firestar and Brambleclaw, after following Ashfur's fear-scent to the lake. Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost are half-brothers, thus they share the same blood and are kin, and as he stumbles down to the lake, blood pours from Hawkfrost's neck, making the waves red.
