Hazesight moved deeper into the moorlands with his apprentice at his side. Burningpaw had gotten over the fact that his mentor was blind, in fact, in made him happy that he would be taught by a cat who became a warrior despite his disabilities. The white tom flicked his tail at the younger ginger cat, telling him without words to assume the hunter's crouch. The two of them moved in sync as well as Hazesight and Hiddensong did together.
Without making a single noise Burningpaw sprinted after what would be, in his mind, a rabbit. He stretched out to his full length with every stride, his ginger pelt burning like the sun in the bright light that hit the moorlands without the filter brought around by trees. He moved in a zig zag pattern, imagining what a real rabbit would do.
With a flick of his tail Hazesight summoned his apprentice to his side. "Now that you have mastered that would you like to try to catch a real rabbit?"
Burningpaw looked at his mentor with determination. "Yes, I would very much like that."

Burningpaw sniffed the air trying to find the scent of a rabbit. His eyes narrowed in concentration when he finally scented it, and then he saw it. He sprinted after it, just as he had when he practiced. His spine bent and flexed, moving like a spring and he moved like the wind for which his clan was named. His narrow build made him swift and his long tail let him maintain his balance. His paws stretched out, claws extended, almost touching the fleeing rabbit. With one last effort he jumped forward, his claws digging deep into the rabbit's soft flesh. The two, prey and hunter. crashed into the ground where the real struggle began. The rabbit was large and strong for a prey animal and the two rolled on the ground, one fighting for life, one for the sake of his clan. Finally Burningpaw won, dispatching the rabbit with a powerful bite to the neck. He carried his catch back to his mentor after he thanked Starclan for its life.
"Very good."
