Circus tried to catch up, limping slightly, but going at a steady pace.

[A lone tear falls]

Fallingwater padded into the security of the nursery and began to build a nest for Circus. When she was finished she snuggled into her own nest. In the clearing outside her kits tumbled and rolled, playing their make believe games again.

Circus nodded her thanks, smiling a genuine smile, which she usually didn't do. "I'm truly thankful. Really,' she purred, listening to the kits outside.

Thistlekit paused in the middle of her crouch, pricking her ears, she listened to the familiar sounds of her mother. Behind those there was something else, another presence, the sounds of another cat in the nursery. but who? she wondered. Coming out of her crouch and foregoing pouncing on her sibling, she tilted her head. Listening she pondered who exactly would be in the nursery, rarely occupied by any cat other than her siblings and mother. A slight breeze whistled through the tall trees bringing the scent of unfamiliarity and foreign characteristics. Whomever it was, they surely did not belong to skyclan. So why. . . Thistlekit questioned, as the sounds of mews reached her ears Is my mother conversing with this strange cat? She made her way towards the nursery, tail swishing and eyes filled with curiosity.

Circus saw a kit in the entrance. It was so cute! She couldn't resist going up to it. But she did so slowly, as she didn't want to scare her. "Hello," she mewed softly.

Fallingwaterlooked at her kit with pride in her eyes. "Thistlekit, this is Circus, Circus this is Thistlekit." She wondered what her other kits were up to.

Ghostkit padded into the nursery slowly, her ears pricked with curiosity but her eyes guarded with caution. She watched as her sister padded forward more confidently. Some days she wished she could be like that.

Circus smiled warmly at Thistlekit.

Fallingwater watched as Ghostkit cautiously padded into the nursery. "This little one is Ghostkit," She looked from Circus to her youngest daughter. "Ghostkit, this is my friend Circus."

Circus was a bit uneasy when Fallingwater had said 'friend'. She usually was very cautious. But somehow, she just seemed....really nice. And kind. "Hello, young one," the black she-cat said, smiling.

Thistlekit smiled kindly at the newcomer, giving her a warm 'hello'. She could hear Ghostkit padding up behind her. She purred softly as circus gave her a warm smile. Then content to be quiet; waited, whilst her mother introduced the guest to her sister. At the same time she was taking in carefully the appearance of the she-cat. hmm she seems nice enough.

Ghostkit padded to her mother's side and tucked herself into her mother's soft fur. She was wary of the newcomer though not afraid of her.

Fallingwater looked down as her daughter snuggled against her. She was always a bit shy around new cats.

Circus was glad the other kit welcomed her. The one hiding in Fallingwater just needed some time. Or maybe she was dirty! The she-cat frowned, looking at her fur.

Fallingwater looked down at Ghostkit, "Its okay, she won't hurt you." She then turned to Circus, who looked as though she was looking for dirt on her glossy black fur, with apologetic eyes. "She's just a little bit shy."

Circus let out a huff of relief. She smiled softly. "I'm shy with new cats too," she whispered warmly to the little kit.

Ghostkit padded toward Circus slowly, her nose lifted to the sky as she sniffed the visiting she-cat. She made a slow circle around the black cat before returning to her mother's side. Her eyes were less guarded then before and glowed warmly in welcome to the newcomer.
