Sandheart's eyes opened to light flickering through the warriors' den. He was in more of a bad mood than he had been in a while ever since Rosie was welcomed into the Clan. All arguments he had were lost when day in and day out Liftedstar would visit the nursery. It was odd and Sandheart felt odd about it. He padded out of the warriors' den to find his leader, padding into the nursery again. Shaking his head he walked briskly out of the camp.
Anger had helped his hunt and now he was happier, away from it all, doing as he pleased. He closed his eyes and listened to all around him until he heard pawsteps. Sandheart looked up to see a cat approaching him, "What do you want," he hissed angrily.

Taintedheart glared at the tom with her stormy blue eyes, daring him to say something rude again. Her white fur glistened in the winter light and she licked her paw absentmindedly even though her temper was boiling. "Watch what you say to others, not everyone is forgiving. You're lucky I'm having a good day otherwise I might rip your tongue out for your words."

When Sandheart saw that it was her he laid his fur flat a little. His whiskers twitched as he spoke, "Rip it off then," he meowed, "It's not much use to me anyway." He watched her and then sighed as he looked to the sky, "I thought you might be someone else," he grumbled, "Someone regrettably annoying." He looked down again at her and waited to see if she'd be angry in some way but in all reality Sandheart wasn't about to care that much.

Taintedheart let out a small laugh. "Oh, who might that annoying cat be?"

Sandheart grinned a little as he heard her speak, "Some cat that might bug me until the moon turned on things I don't care about," he meowed. He let his eyes sparkle for a bit on the idea that he wasn't as angry anymore. His mind went through all the cats who might prick his pelt like a tick stuck on the scruff of the neck and then he found some. Sparks flared through his eyes a bit and then he stopped them, "Or just someone unwelcome."

Taintedheart looked at him blankly. "Well then, I leave alone if that's what you want."

His ears pricked as she spoke to him. He sighed and shook his head, "No," he meowed, "You are a welcome cat to our Clan." A slight growl came to as he thought of certain cats. Sandheart shook the growl and looked at her again, "No," he said plainly, "It feels good to have someone sensible around for once."
(It's ok. ^^)

The white she-cat's ears flattened against her head at his comment and her eyes glowed dangerously. "If your talking about Rosie then you are mistaken. I don't have a problem with her being taken into the clan. If you think that of me then you are very wrong."

Sandheart stared at her calmly for once. Nothing really went through his mind but his voice was completely blank as he spoke, "My opinions stay with me I guess," his eyes now showed no emotion as he spoke, "As you wish to think." He shook his head again as he went on, "No Taintedheart, I do not think that of you." His eyes looked at her for a moment and then to the ground, in his own thoughts.

Taintedheart looked at the cat before her, her eyes softening. This young cat still had much to learn and he was merely trying to find his place in the world.

Sandheart flicked his ears a little as he looked at the she-cat. She was beautiful to him but he never wanted her to know what he thought because he knew what she would say. He gave a little shake to his fur to try and erase the thought from his mind but it was stuck. A quick shrug and he spoke again, "Do you have your eye on a kit to train," he meowed thoughtfully, "Maybe Liftedstar might give you that one."
(Do you mind if he likes her but he doesn't want to tell because she wouldn't like him?)

Her eyes brightened at the thought of being a mentor. "I would love to mentor a kit but I don't have my eye on one just yet." Her blue eyes looked at the handsom tom before her before she caught herself and looked away.

Sandheart smiled at her and spoke happily, "You'll probably give you one when they are ready to be mentored." He starred at the she-cat for a moment longer, longing to say what he wanted but he bit his tongue. His mind told him to look away but she did first, probably out of catching a new found scent.
(I like that idea.)

Taintedheart continued to stare at the ground. "Yeah, I guess they will." She was terrified by the feelings that cried to be released from within the deepest confines of her soul. She yearned to tell Sandheart of her feelings, but terror kept her tongue silent.
