{P.S. we're past the point of no return night / paw / apprentice / thunderclan SPLASH! Rain splattered against the mushy forest ground. Leaves were still their ripe green, but the sky had clouded over as if in the middle of leaf-fall. And it was coming quick. At the first sound of raindrops the elders had pronounced that their bones ached, meaning that the rain would only get heavier from here, it also meant that all apprentice should go into hiding, lest they wanted to be subjected to a rainy day with the groaning and moaning elders. Everyone had selected a very quick piece of food and brought it into their dens. It was warm and dark and full of familiar scents. But it was too much for Nightpaw. She hated the night, but she missed the times when she used to just fade away, she missed the times when her eyes stood out more than usual. Like a beacon in the dark. So she took advantage of the rain. The wet water against her non-water proof fur didn't bother her. She liked the dark storm clouds overhead. It reminded her of a time at night while it was still day. It made her heart ache, and yet she couldn't rid herself of the feeling of eyes following her in the dark, speaking to her.
CRACK! Thunder sang and lightning crackled through the air. Rain poured down, it's drumming around against the leaves sounded like it was wheezing and thumping. All of the sound covered Nightpaw like a thick blanket. Rawr, RAW-r, rOAr... Nightpaw crouched, her tail swinging through the air, her thin pelt soaked through. Her nose was just inches away from a small, seemingly bored toad. It must've wandered over from Shadowclan, but as a throughbred Thunderclan cat, the taste for toad did not match her appeals. She leaped to one side of the toad, and then the other. Growling and hissing at it. It didn't move. Her lower lip protruded and curled. You know what? she said softly, her voice hardly audible over the din of the rain. You're not much fun. You're no fun at all. she sighed. No one was ever much fun. Life had seemed to exuberant and exciting as a kit. Even watching the never-moving stars. Mr. Toad... she said softly. You're the most fun I've had in three moons. Did you know that three moons is a very long time in cat time. How do frogs tell time? The toad croaked. Oh. I see. Nightpaw said, a small smile turning up the corners of her sullen mouth. Then they fell. Oh, Mr. Toad. I don't see. I don't see at all. I miss the night, Toad. I do... she sighed again. But I'm scared. she hissed. And with that she sank back onto her haunches, settling herself in the near to muck.

Rosethorn carefully made her way through the pelting rain. Her ears pricked at the sound of a cat meowing. She traveled toward it wondering what another cat was doing in a rain storm, not to mention in the middle of the night. She shook her pelt trying to get rid of the rain that had collected on her white fur. Suddenly she found herself trodding on a small lump of fur, she jumped back startled. Then realizing it was only an apprentice let the fur on her back lay down. "Nightpaw, what are you doing out here, you should be sleeping"

night / paw / apprentice / thunderclan Oh! Nightpaw bounced up, her fur lay flat because of the mud that soaked and shook on Nightpaw's glossy black pelt. Her eyes flashed. Rosethorn, I didn't hear you coming. Her voice didn't hold a guilty tone like most would when one said those words. She pursed her lips, the tip of her sharp fangs showing. She heard Rosethorn start to talk and then finish. She looked up with her big shock-blue eyes, her voice bitter.
There's nothing to look forward to in the morning. I have no reason to wake up. Her lip rose and curled revealing the dangerous teeth inset into her jaw. But she knew she would never unleash them on a fellow clan-mate. Though if Rosethorn hadn't been there she would have taken it out on the tree that just seemed like a blurry outline through the rain and night. Of course, if Rosethorn hadn't been there she most likely wouldn't have thought about being mentorless at all. Her blazing eyes glinted and sparkled through the downpour. She swallowed her discontent, So what are you doing out this late?

" oh, the rain woke me up, and I decided to take a walk, and then I heard you" said Rosethorn attempting nonchalance. Then she settled nervously on her haunches, glancing towards Nightpaw. "you really think there is nothing to look forward to?" she questioned, her eager eyes seeking answers.OOC: sorry, really bad muse, and it wasn't very long

night / paw / apprentice / thunderclan Nightpaw wondered what Rosethorn had to be nervous about. She was good at reading body language, and she was curious as to why the warrior had answered in the way she had. She pursed her lips, the very tips of her teeth showing again. And then she let her lips relax, the question falling from them. She was sure that Rosethorn wouldn't appreciate her being nosy and sticking her tail where it didn't belong, as Nightpaw had heard warriors say. But of course, she was most surprised when Rosethorn questioned her. Of course I think it. she said stoutly. Her tail stood tall and shifted a bit in the rain, it moved opposite of the way it should have gone, but the uncomfortableness was quite comfortable. If I didn't mean it I wouldn't say it.

" of course not" Rosethorn replied a little too quickly. " well I must be going on my way" she mewed, turning away she started padding off deeper into the forest. She afforded one final look at nightpaw, almost spoke, but thought better of it. Her paws crunched on wet leaves as she traveled through the trees. Her tail twitched, and she halted with a sudden realization. She could understand why nightpaw might have said that now. The apprentice didn't have a mentor, perhaps she was resentful of the fact. Rosethorn stretched then slowly continued on her way.
