The Riverclan apprentice looked at the dark sky. The half moon shone brightly above the world. It was time to travel to the Moonpool to share tongues with Starclan, the warrior ancestors that watched over and protected the clans. She glanced over her shoulder to the medicine cat den where her mentor lay sleeping. She wouldn't bother to wake her, she needed her sleep when she could get it. She padded out of the camp and headed toward Windclan. She stayed close to the lake once she left her territory, respecting the rule that had been made ages before by the clans when they first came to their new home.
She moved swiftly but not enough to tire herself, she still had to make the journey back home. Her white fur glowed in the bright moonlight and she seemed to move like a ghost. Spiritpaw wondered what the other medicine cats would be like, she hadn't met them yet and her curiosity was brimming.
She climbed the rocky hill to sit by the entrance to the Moonpool where she would wait for the other cat to arrive. Then she would have her first meeting with Starclan. She wasn't a young apprentice but she had never been well enough to make the journey. Now it was her turn to speak with Starclan, to finally be accepted among the ranks of medicine cats both past, present, and future.

Tearlight~ Tearlight slipped past dark shadows, disrupting their shapes. The glow from the half moon lighted her way. She flicked her ears at her apprentice Echopaw, making sure that the cat was keeping up. Her paws took her past the trees, and up the hill. It looked as if there was already a cat waiting. Tearlight's grey eyes shone with an erie fire as she made her way up the hill. She slowly took in the sight of the riverclan apprentice, wondering why her mentor was not here to share tongues with starclan. Quickly pushing those thoughts away, she mewed a polite greeting. "Hello, how is the prey running?" [/blockquote]

"... BUMBLEBREEZE Rocks snipped at Bumblebreeze's paws as she took the last steps of her ascent up the great hill. Immediately the scents of other cats caught in her nostrils and they flared as an ordinary response to an opposite clan should. A half second ticked by before she understood that it was merely her medicine cat counterparts and she relaxed and let go of the deep breath she had been holding for the longest time. 'Good evening.' she cooed softly. Her tiny tabby paws kneaded the ground nervously. She coughed. 'So I guess you heard I'm not Bumblepaw anymore.' she said softly, her heart ached for her mentor. But she also thought of what a cruel name it seemed to have a name like 'Bumble', it made her eyes well up with salty, sparkly tears what she thought of when her mentor had taken her out and showed her the bees, she had told her that the sweetest one was a 'Bumble bee', and therefore Bumblebreeze was the sweetest of them all. It made her smile and a soft tear slipped down her cheek. Nothing felt the same anymore.[/blockquote] ..."

Spiritpaw dipped her head in greeting to the other cats. "The prey is running well, what of your clans?"

;;Though you may not remember dreaming, something waits for you to breathe again...
Echopaw padded cautiously behind Tearlight, silently memorizing the route to the Moonpool. Her fur bristled slightly as the scents of the others reached her--she had been taught by her ambitious parents that other clan cats were always enemies, no exceptions. But what's this? They were speaking courteously to each other, not seeming to care at all about the clan differences. Echopaw made her fur lie flat, but didn't speak. She stayed behind Tearlight, gazing warily at the others.

"... BUMBLEBREEZE Bumblebreeze quickly took in the apprentices face and laughed. 'Don't worry.' she said, smiling gently. She remembered what it was like to come here for the first time and see that other cats from other clans were there too. At first she had been confused, and then infuriated, but finally indifferent. She watched the girl pass through different phases until she forced her fur to settle. 'We're really not like others, you see. We're... Friends.' Were they friends? Bumblebreeze didn't know how to explain her relationship with the cats surrounding her. It felt like a strong wall of trust had enveloped her and kept her safe and apart from everyone else and all the struggles of a more war-torn world. Realizing that without know her fellow medicine cat's opinions, she wasn't sure if 'friends' was really a good word. '... Or comrades.' frustrated with the lack of good words she said finally, 'Its hard to explain.' And it won't ever get easier. ..."

Spiritpaw looked at the other apprentice, at least she wasn't alone here. "You will all have to excuse Meadowdust, she's been busy so I let her sleep."

Icefeather walked forward."I apologize for being late." Her eyes were bright just like always. Her smile was warm and she was one of the popular of the group."Yes we are comrades, bumblebreeze is right. We come to each other in our time of need. Usually for herbs. Or advice for healing. Its a great relationship really. But of course you don't want to reveal a lot about your clan." Her tone was sincere."Oh my apprentice Lovepaw decided to be a warrior instead."Her tone softened and clearly she was hurt."I did however Invite a friend. I am not sure if she will be with more tonight or not. I suppose we can wait a few moments longer..."

Spiritpaw dipped her head to Icefeather, wondering why her apprentice had decided to become a warrior instead. She shrugged it off before turning her attention to other things.

Echopaw's eyes narrowed at Bumblebreeze's laughter. Don't laugh at me! She thought fiercely. Ignoring the Medicine Cat's difficulty thinking of a word to describe the relationship between herself and the other Medics, and the others who were speaking, she glanced around nervously, not sure what would happen next.

Spiritpaw waited somewhat patiently though the tip of her tail flicked back and forth. She wished that things would move forward instead of them all sitting and waiting for some cat's friend.

Tearlight~ Tearlight looked back at her apprentice, who looked impatient and somewhat edgy. " "Don't worry, soon everything will make sense." She whispered, barely loud enough for Echopaw to hear. Though she didn't show it, she was also impatient and ready to share tongues with Starclan. That is why they had come, but now they were waiting for Icefeather's freind. Tearlight flicked her tail, hoping if the cat did show up, it would make an appearance soon. [/blockquote]

Echopaw Echopaw's tail lashed at Tearlight's words. Everything will make sense, eh? she thought. “Why are we waiting for Icefeather's friend?” she murmured. “I thought only Medicine Cats came to the MoonPool...” Her pelt twitched as she glanced around again. Yes, she wanted to share tongues with StarClan, to learn the ways of Medicine Cats, and their secrets... But her whole family was in StarClan, and she wasn't particularly eager to see them. They'll probably just stare at me the whole night, she thought bitterly. She remembered that stare well—the disapproving, disappointed shadow in her parents' eyes, the smug, aloof light in her siblings'. They were always perfect, weren't they? She heard someone scrambling up the rocks, and the sudden sound startled her out of her thoughts. This must be Icefeather's friend. Echopaw had expected that a warrior, or maybe an elder, but this black ThunderClanner was just an apprentice—probably younger than Echopaw, judging by her size. Surprised, she glanced at Tearlight, then back to the apprentice, eyes narrowing slightly. Who in StarClan's name is that? Truthpaw Panting softly, Truthpaw scrambled up the rocky hill. Reaching the top, she froze. What was she doing here? She wasn't a Medicine Cat... She caught the startled glare of a smallish gray she-cat and glanced down, ears flushing. ”Sorry...” Her voice was barely a whisper as she slipped quietly towards Icefeather. The bashfulness she'd abandoned during her earlier conversation with the Medicine Cat returned with a vengeance under the gazes of the other Medicine Cats. Shaking slightly, she offered them a shy smile. ”Hello,” she mewed softly. OOC: sorry it took so long to bring her in... I was waiting to see if Blackie planned on replying to the thread with Icefeather and Truthpaw.
