Mirrorpaw fled to one of the few trees that grew in Riverclan territory. Its roots were large and knarled but provided shelter from the downpour soaking through her white fur.

;;listen to each drop of rain, whispering secrets in vain, frantically searching for someone to hear their story before they hit ground...
Shadowpaw watched the rain quietly from beneath the shelter of the tree's roots. ”Pretty, isn't it?” she murmured. Crouching down and tucking her paws under her chest, she closed her sapphire-blue eyes and listened to the rain falling down, battering at the ground and the river.

Mirrorpaw looked over at Shadowpaw nodding her head in agreement. "It is, it may be wet but its not a day lost to gloom."

Shadowpaw;; Shadowpaw nodded cheerfully. Tilting her head to one side, she tried to think of something to talk about. She debated asking who Mirrorpaw wanted to be mentored by, then decided against it. If Mirrorpaw wanted to talk, she would. But if she didn't want to talk, Shadowpaw wouldn't bug her with incessant chatter. Silentsong;; He darted into the shelter of the tree's branches, stopping abruptly when he spotted the two apprentices. Why were there apprentices out alone in a storm like this? Silentsong stared quizzically at them, then shrugged and waved his tail in silent greeting. Drops of silvery water pooled under his paws as he sat down, not bothering to dry his pelt out.

Mirrorpaw waved her tail back at Silentsong before turning her eyes back to the sky. She wondered what her sister was doing right now. Probably looking for herbs or she was curled up in her den waiting for the rain to stop.

Shadowpaw;; Shadowpaw stared at Silentsong for a moment. He was a bit odd... She'd never met anyone who didn't talk. Shrugging, she curled her tail around herself. What he did or didn't do was his business. Closing her eyes again, she waited for the rain to let up. Silentsong;; Silentsong blinked at the apprentices. Wondered if he would end up mentoring one of them. Not likely, he thought. You don't talk, remember? How can you teach anyone to be a warrior if you don't talk? He wondered for a moment why he didn't talk. If he could talk. The thought passed. It didn't matter—people talked too much. Words were distracting. You could lie with words. You couldn't lie with emotions.

Mirrorpaw continued to gaze up at the stormy sky. Her thoughts slowly died away and she just watched as the storm continued on, letting the sounds and smells fill her being.
